What causes humidity?

Ground walls are often an easy target for humidity related to capillary phenomena. This physical phenomenon is the same that causes the problem of rising humidity. When this event involves walls that are in direct contact with the ground, the spread of the humidity can be even more rapid, damaging and difficult to control.

Causes include:

  • THE INCREASED PRESENCE OF RAINWATER OR GROUNDWATER*, ESPECIALLY FOLLOWING LARGE OR EXTENDED RAINFALL EVENTS.

  • THE PRESENCE OF SALTS DISSOLVED IN THE WATER.

  • THE LOW TEMPERATURE THAT CAUSES CONDENSATION OF HUMIDITY INSIDE THE HOUSE.

Barriers against rising humidity

Waterproofing ground walls is without doubt, one of the main objectives in the home, to improve both energy saving and the quality of life in our homes.

Buildings with walls in direct contact with the ground are especially subject to humidity penetration. Which will be higher, the more porous the construction material is.

Our company uses high quality products for the waterproofing of ground walls, for concrete construction, stone, brick and perforated concrete.

These are chemical barriers and dehumidifying plasters to create barriers against capillary rising humidity in any type of construction, through product injections.
